A 79 year old German man named Werner Freund does something I didn’t even think was possible.
He literally lives among wolves, and he has done it for 40 years. The way they respect him – and what he does with them – is simply unbelievable. Just look at the photos… but prepare yourself for the last one.
He is basically a member of the pack. They respect him as much as he respects them.
His Wolfspark Sanctuary is located in Merzig where it’s inhabited by wolves from six different packs around the world, including Siberian, Arctic, Canadian, European and Mongolian ones
They were mostly raised by Freund from the time they were cubs. And as awesome as this is, he does do EVERYTHING with them.
As shocking as it seems to those of us who don’t live with wolves, it’s actually necessary that he does this during feeding time. Werner makes sure that he sinks his teeth into the meat first, sealing his position as the dominant male each time. Then and only then are the others permitted to eat as well.
