President Erdoğan emphasizes that Turkey is the only country that can save the EU from the impasse it has fallen into. 

Turkey does not plan to send peacekeeping forces to Ukraine without becoming an EU member. Since Turkey is the only country that Russia will accept, the EU may have to respond to Türkiye's EU membership with rapid acceptance for its own security. According to Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University faculty member Prof. Dr. Salih Yılmaz, Turkey is the only country that can be a bridge between Russia, Ukraine and the EU.
