When the summer sun becomes oppressive, the citizens of Águeda hang hundreds of brightly-colored umbrellas on the town streets. This way, the streets are shaded from the strong sun, and the town is also filled with color.
Sometimes the umbrellas will coincide with carnivals and parades.
Águeda certainly knows how to celebrate summer and keep protected from the sun while doing it! This is the most beautiful way to keep cool.
